Llantwit Major vs Taffs Well – JD Cymru South
Llantwit Major 1 – 3 Taffs Well: Wellmen capitalize in fashion on run-of-the-mill Majors performance.
The Wellmen continue our fine form and make it four wins in a row, climbing to 6th in the JD Cymru South.
We grew into the game from the 15th minute and appeared more comfortable on the ball than their opposition, leaning comfortably on Goalkeeper Ed King's distribution and enjoying the larger share of possession. Once they found their confidence with strikers linking up, quality proved the difference with chances aplenty for attackers Josh Pope and Harri Edwards. Despite their best efforts and a penalty shout for handball in the 15th minute, the Wellmen left it until the 45th minute to open the scoring. Josh Pope did well to turn his man and find space just inside the penalty area and convert for his 3rd goal of the season.
Midfielder Ben Parry continued to pull the strings in midfield in the second half as Taffs Well found our second goal in Captain Fantastic, Vaughn Fowler. The central defender met a floating cross from Will Toms and headed home to secure a comfortable lead. The hosts displayed as to be more energized from conceding although they failed to capitalize on the few chances provided by unforced errors from the Wellmen. Attacker Cameron Gauci proved his super substitute worth for the second week In a row in the 70th minute. Harry Treharne played Cameron through on goal and Gauci shot a cool
finish into the bottom corner. Despite pleading for a somewhat deserved clean sheet, the Wellmen gifted a goal to Major's attacker Charlie Hansen which will be marked as a consolation for the hosts in the 91st minute.
We now look up the table to travelling visitors Afan Lido on 1st December where they hope to continue our winning ways.
